ANERA is an international, non-profit, non-governmental organization implementing infrastructure projects in the West Bank and Gaza. ANERA is recruiting for ”Technical Engineer/Design Development” (multiple positions) under the Palestinian Community Infrastructure Development (PCID) Program, to be based in its Jerusalem office:
General Roles and Responsibilities:
The successful candidates Technical Engineer/Design Development will work in close coordination with the Design team and the Construction teams to streamline the formulation of project proposals, prepare Environmental Impact Assessment, projects design development, revision of detailed drawings until the issuance and award of tenders.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
-Conduct reconnaissance and data collection and site visits.
-Assist in the preparation and review of the Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), needs assessment and Project Proposals, including information review and verification.
-Conduct meetings with stakeholders to collect the relevant information needed for the preparation of Project Proposals and EIA’s.
-Coordinate work along with the Senior Office Engineer and the rest of the Design team members and the Area staff to streamline the production of Project Proposals, EIA’s and tender reviews.
-Assist in the review of Preliminary Designs, Drawings and Tender Documents prepared by our Partner Engineering Firms (PEF’s).
-Analyze and evaluate the received bids from bidders.
-Conduct site visits of proposed and on-going project interventions.
-Perform any other duties as specified and requested by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Related Field.
-Minimum of Five years of experience working in design or design review for a wide range of infrastructure projects.
-Knowledge of local design practices and construction practices.
-Knowledge of infrastructure design works, related to water, sewage and storm water drainage system is a plus.
-Working knowledge of site safety plans; site management experience is a plus.
-Prior working experience with USAID or other international donor-funded infrastructure projects is a plus.
-Reporting writing skills in English and Arabic.
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members, Local Authorities, community members and groups during different project phases.
-Computer skills in MS office, AutoCAD, MS Project.
-Ability to work under pressure and when necessary outside formal working hours and willingness to travel frequently to various localities in the West Bank.
-Registration with the Jerusalem Engineers Association and has a valid driving license.
