GIZ has been commissioned by the German Government to implement the
“Local Governance Reform Programme (LGRP)”

GIZ is commissioned by Engagement Global gGmbH / Service Agency Communities in One World to provide technical and logistic support for strengthening partnerships between Palestinian and German municipalities. Among other interventions, and in order to promote these partnerships, two international partnership conferences will be respectively organized in Palestine (2016) and in Germany (2017).

In order to support the Programme Team we are looking for a
 

Technical Officer / Partnership Coordination (part time 50%)


A-Responsibilities & tasks include but not limited to:

-Support the organization of the German-Palestinian Municipal Partnership Conference in Palestine (end of 2016). This includes:
-Support the organization team, in terms of: 
-Coordinating with all partners for the development of the conference themes, speakers, participants and final agenda;
-Supporting in defining and contracting the moderators (if needed),  and ensure proper documentation of the conference;
-Ensuring optimum media and communication services for the conference;
-Facilitating local participation in the conference.
-Support the overall procurement process for services and goods in line with the GIZ’s rules and regulations:
—Develop ToRs, obtaining offers and support the conclusion of contracts and purchase orders;
—Provide logistic support, in terms of:
-Booking flights, venues, accommodation, and transportation.
-Contract photography and translation services.
-Follow up the issuance of insurance policies.
-Ensure settlement of travel expenses.
-Support the LGRP Head of Administration in the respective management and accounting requirements in line with GIZ’s and well as Engagement Global’s guidelines and regulations.
-Assist in the reporting in line with standards of the commissioner.
-Provide technical, administrative, and logistic support for the organization of the conference in Germany in 2017. In specific:
-    Support the development of the themes, speakers and agenda of the conference;
-Provide logistic support including: visas, flight tickets, insurances, accommodation etc.
-Assist in any other related tasks

B-Required qualifications:

1-University degree in business administration, management or any related field, or equivalent office work experience with proven organizational skills;
2-Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic, good command of German is an asset;
3-Capable of  demonstrating to work under stressful conditions, self-initiator, flexible and able to work in a multicultural setting, team and service oriented, friendly personality, well organized and motivated, capable of meeting strict deadlines;
4-Ability to keep confidentiality;
5-Excellent computer literacy in all MS Office Programs;
6-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail;
7-Ability to travel abroad, if needed.

Assignment: Starting 1st of April 2016. 12 months contract with possible extension up to the end of 2017
