Technology Coordinator
AMIDEAST is recruiting for a Technology Coordinator position to work on the American Spaces Program.
The Technology Coordinator position will be physically based at America House Jerusalem with an area of responsibility that includes both America House Jerusalem and America House Ramallah. This full-time position is responsible for the planning and integration of technology into American Spaces programming at both locations. This opportunity is a scheduled to begin on or around August 15, 2016.
The Technology Coordinator will provide training to participants using a variety of interactive platforms. She/he will conceptualize, propose and implement recurring tech training (beginning-mid level) using a variety of hands-on methods and resources for young learners and adults. The Coordinator will provide day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting as well as specialized tech support during events and provide staff training as requested.
Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria:
-Highly skilled in word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, the Internet, social media, eLibraryUSA, Open Educational Resources/Massive Open Online Courses (OERs/MOOCs), multimedia and fabrication (makerspace) technology. She/he can troubleshoot most technology problems, train and mentor participants, staff and guest in technology skills.
-Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field, preference given to those with a Master’s degree and/or holders of industry recognized technical certificates and/or vendor certification.
-Specialized training in computer technology to include, typing, Microsoft products, Excel, and other common office database software is required.
-Professional fluency in English and Arabic required
-Training Experience
-Current Israeli driver’s license is required.
Other considerations:
-Leadership skills, creativity, motivation and enthusiasm are a plus
-Able to work Monday-Friday workweek and be flexible to work evenings and weekends
-Preference will be given to applicants who are Alumni of U.S. government Public Diplomacy programs
