Trade Facilitation Advisor

Position Objectives:
The Trade Project is a USAID-funded program operating in Ramallah, West Bank. The purpose of
the Project is to expand Palestinian private sector economic growth through reduced barriers to trade and investment. The Project began in March 2013 and is expected to be three to five years in duration.
The Trade Project is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the Trade Facilitation Advisor position.
The Trade Facilitation Advisor will use his/her knowledge, past experience and established
network to effectively liaise between the Project and business associations to support the Project’s
delivery of critical information that can reduce the costs of trade. A dynamic personality with initiative
and both self-supporting initiative and team spirit are required. The Trade Facilitation Advisor
will work closely with selected partners and counterparts to share information and record savings.

The key job responsibilities for the Trade Facilitation Advisor of the Project will include:
-Provide assistance to the project to implement trade reform measures.
-Facilitate, coordinate, and follow up on initiatives.
-Assist in the tracking and documentation of results for each initiative.
-Act as liaison with counterpart organizations, including CPA, SII, PSI, Ports, PA, Customs, Chambers of Commerce.
-Facilitate the process of information-sharing for cost savings opportunities across the supply
chain for Palestinian traders.
-Work closely with selected Chambers and business associations to reach out to their members
to disseminate information relevant to the Project’s delivery.
-Work closely with the Palestinian private sector to identify a variety of trade facilitation and logistic initiatives that will participate in building the Palestinian Economy
-Perform other tasks as required by Chief of Party.

Education, Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
-University degree in business, economics, supply chain.
-At least 5 years work experience in a relevant field of trade.
-Significant technical expertise relevant to the Project
-Demonstrated track record of thinking creatively and achieving results
-Strong ability to interact effectively and collaboratively, both one-to-one and as a team member
-Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in Arabic and English
-A team player willing to engage the Project’s technical staff and counterparts to ensure highest

professional standards are maintained.
