About AXSOS Academy

AXSOS Academy will be the coding boot-camp of Palestine. Based in Ramallah, this boot-camp will train over 6,000 market ready software developers in 3 years. Providing, both technical skills and soft skills, our Academy will ensure that the graduates will be ready to enter the highly competitive IT sector.

Vacancy Description

We are searching for skilled, committed Instructor Assistants to support and be trained by AXSOS Academy Instructors. You will actively participate in training for programming and web-development to a class beginner learning ruby, HTML, CSS, java-script and Ruby on Rails as well as the best practices of software development.

Your duties will also include assisting the Instructors in running lectures on various topics (ruby basics, database & SQL, Rails, frontend). In addition to listening to, asking necessary questions, and developing effective communication skills to improve the student’s interaction during each Cohort.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to coordinate and support trainers. The successful candidate shall also be friendly, fast learner, professional, creative and with outstanding people skills.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include assisting teaching programming and web-development to a class beginner learning ruby, HTML, CSS, java-script and ruby on Rails as well as the best practices of software development.
You will assist running lectures on various topics (ruby basics, database & SQL, Rails, frontend).
You will also be responsible to respond to trainees’ questions and assist them in completing daily exercises.

Educational and skills Requirements:

+1 year of experience in ruby and ruby on Rails.
Very comfortable with the command line, git, Github and technical workflows used by developers (branches, pull requests, code review).
Passionate about teaching code and explaining concepts to others.
Have natural leadership skills.
Willing to learn fast and develop both your teaching and Technical skills.
Like clean code and refactoring but are also a pragmatic developer who loves to get things done and develop useful product with clean user interface.
Have a good knowledge of frontend development (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and user interface design and can follow the best practices of atomic design to build user-friendly web applications.
You are familiar with Sublime Text, Github, Slack, Trello and all the classic tools used by developers to work on a software project and communicate
