Part Time Trainers (Training Program for Adolescents)
MA’AN Development Center is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January, 1989, registered by law as a non-profit organization. The main office is located in Ramallah and the four branch offices are located in Gaza, KhanYounis, Tulkarem and Jenin. MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
MA’AN Development Center is interested in hiring a Part Time Trainers within a project entitled “Promoting non-violent behavior among adolescents - Change makers". The objective of the project is to Adolescents boys and girls aged from 14 to 16 are equipped with knowledge and skills to act as active organizers of campaigns and communication for development initiatives to reduce violence in their communities. The project is proposed to result in having 600 Adolescent girls and boys (14-16 years) in the out-school environment with increased knowledge and skills to lead and participate in constructive initiatives in Gaza through engaging the adolescents in several community and learning initiatives.
A core part of the project is to develop and deliver training on topics that enhance the knowledge towards the children rights conventions, primary life skills topics, Gender Based violence, bullying and training on planning and designing initiatives and campaigns. The training is conducted to ensure more effective participation in the different project activities. A comprehensive training module with 24 training hours is going to be developed. This training program is a requirement for any adolescent interested in being part of project activities.
MA’AN is interested in recruiting a group of trainers, to be working individually on the following topics:
-Introduction to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. (4 Training hrs.)
-Social mobilization and advocacy basics. (6 Training hrs.)
-Introduction on gender awareness (2 Training hrs.)
-Introduction on GBV and bullying (6 Training hrs.)
-Primary life skills including effective communication, respect for diversity, self-management and resilience. (6 Training hrs.)
Every trainer will be responsible for training of 100 adolescents on the aforementioned topics in 4 groups within a timeframe of 6-7 weeks. The total sum is (24 groups x 25 adolescents x 24 training hours/group)
Type of Contract: HR contract
Contract Duration: 6-7 weeks
Monthly Salary: 2000 NIS
Load of work 48 sessions x 2 hrs
Duties and Responsibilities of the Trainers:
The trainers will report to the project coordinator. They are going to handle the training tasks with responsibility of the following reports and deliverables:
- Training Material.
- A report clarifying the training process implementation methodology and achievements with expressive pictures.
- Trainees Appraisal Results (Pre and Post). This should include raw data and analyzed report. The appraisal forms should be approved by the MA'AN Project Coordinator.
Eligible Entities to Apply for the Vacancy:
Qualified individuals who should meet the following requirements:
- At least a Bachelor degree from recognized university in social science, psychology, education or related fields.
- At least, three years of proven training experience targeting adolescents.
- Proven knowledge on designing initiatives and campaigns.
- Proven knowledge on GBV and bullying phenomenon in Gaza context.
- ToT certificate (s).
- Excellent networking and coordination skills.
- Excellent reporting skills in both English & Arabic.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Advanced computer literacy.
- Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
- Ability to start working immediately.
