Web Security Training and Certification - Gaza Strip
Mercy Corps is a nonprofit international relief and development organization serving more than 19 million people in 36 countries. Mercy Corps has had a presence in the West Bank and Gaza since the 1980s, helping Palestinians meet their immediate needs for survival and find durable solutions to chronic problems. With offices in East Jerusalem, Ramallah and Gaza City, Mercy Corps implements programs throughout the Palestinian territories.
As part of its Palestinian Community Assistance Program (PCAP), which is fully funded by USAID, Mercy Corps offers a program in economic development and workforce preparation. Within its focus on the ICT sector, Mercy Corps is working to provide ICT professionals with advanced technical skills which lead to income and quality of employment, and provide IT academics with up-to-date information in order to enhance quality of education IT undergraduates receive. In 2013, Mercy Corps will offer 2 pilot ICT certification programs targeting ICT professionals and Academics. “CIW Web Security associate/specialist” certificate is the first certification pilot that will be offered.
Mercy Corps is looking for a qualified ICT training provider(s) to deliver preparation training to prepare candidates for CIW “Web Security Associate/Specialist” Certificate, and administration of the CIW “Web Security Associate/Specialist” certification exam process for at least 24 participants divided into two groups.
Training provider’s Minimum Qualifications:
-The training provider should be providing either Pearson VUE or Prometric online Testing services. In case the training provider does not provide this service, they should have an official agreement with a body that provides this service at the time of applying for this bid that is valid until August 2013.
-The training provider should propose three professional trainers, with the following minimum qualifications:
1-Hold a university degree in IT from an accredited university.
2-Strong and verified experience in IT security.
3-Strong and verified experience in Windows, and Linux servers.
4-Strong and verified experience in Web 2.0 Technologies.
5-Should hold at least a certificate in CCNA or equivalent.
6-At least two years of IT Training experience.
Note: Preference will be given to those who hold international certifications in Information Security.
-Training provider should have two labs with specifications outlined in the ToR.
The total anticipated implementation/delivery period is 9 calendar weeks, including preparation work. Activitydelivery is expected to begin in mid-May, pending confirmation that each participant is eligible to receive US Government assistance.
RFP Collection dates: Consultants can start collecting the RFP from 18 April 2013up to 24 April 2013 during working hours from 08:00am up to 04:00pm from Sunday to Thursday
A Pre-bid meeting will be held in MercyCorps office on Thursday 25 April 2013 at 10:00 am.
Closing date of application: Monday 29 April 2013no later than 3:00pm
