TERMS OF REFERENCE

Translation consultancy for Handicap International trainings, meetings, workshops, and field visits activities

CONTEXT

Handicap International (HI) is an independent international aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster, working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. Handicap International is active in occupied Palestinian territory since 1996; HI gives the priority to the development of capacities of disable person's organizations at local, national, and regional level. HI aims at developing the mechanisms and capacities to enhance access to services and supporting initiatives to remove barriers and enhancing inclusiveness of the community development process. In addition to that HI gives priority to emergency response through development of capacities and contingency plans with relevant partners for a quick reaction in case a crisis occurs.

HI is considering the appointment of qualified translators to support the translation works for HI workshops and trainings from English to Arabic & vice versa with a special focus on but not limited to disability and translate of some of its organisational materials.

DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIRED SERVICE PROVISION

The translator will work closely with HI Project managers to:
Translate from and to English, Arabic HI publications and a broad range of technical training materials.
Ensure that the translated text is linguistically and grammatically correct and error free, and that it meets the standards of completely edited and revised;
Ensure that the translated text uses HI standard terminology, and that the language and styles are consistent;
Maintain confidentiality of materials translated and share the materials with HI.
Return to HI all original documentation and the translated documents should be
shared with HI in a word document

SERVICE PROVIDERS PROFILE

-At least 3 years of general translation from English and to Arabic and verse versa;
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of disability, and knowledge of disability terminology
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

The interested applicants should provide a financial offer for the following services:

- Translation of general documents from English to Arabic and vice versa / per page
- The offer must be in Shekels ( NIS) currency and includes all kind of incurred expenses ; amount not subject to VAT
- The service contract will be for one year duration.
- The selected Service provider will respectively bear the cost of incurred for the current Advertisement on Jobs.ps
