Background:
In close collaboration with UNESCO colleagues in Ramallah and Paris as a member of team :

Description of Responsibilities:
-Assist the staff of PWRDC in the preparation and coordination of financial activities and verify, monitor budget and expenditure;
-Control budgetary implementations and prepare, computerize and follow-up contracts, settlement of invoices, budget tables,etc.;
-Keep an up-to-date organizational chart and prepare related forms, reports contracts and correspondence;
-Maintain a filing system of project documents, records, invoices, receipts, etc.;
-Register incoming and outgoing mail;
-Translate invoices, quotations, etc. into English and type correspondence, documents in Arabic and English.
-Make telephone calls to arrange meetings, answer the telephone and transfer calls to the concerned staff if need be;
-Send faxes, and scan documents upon request;
-Photocopy and file documents for Administration;
-Enter in logbook new contracts, follow-up and file;
-Receive and check payment requests;
-Be responsible for the office supplies and stationery
-Record petty cash expenditures according to approved requests;
-Perform any other duties requested by the Director.
-Report to the Administrative Officer, UNESCO Ramallah;

Competencies :
-Experience in support of projects in the oPt, in particular donor-funded projects and/or UN projects. Experience in UNESCO-led projects is an asset.
-Understanding of project cycle and log-frame design including administration and financial support.
-Knowledge of the Palestinian context, including civil society (e.g. NGOs),
-Proven ability working in a team particularly in a multi-cultural and multi-stakeholder setting, from national government to grass-root levels.

Qualifications :
Education and Experience
-At least a diploma in the field of administration and finance is desirable
-Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in project management and support, preferably with the UN.
-Knowledge of computer and software (word-processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc.).
-Fluency in English and Arabic is strongly desirable.
