United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is willing to fill the following vacant post:
Title :Reports Officer

Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Assignment :
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Deputy Representative, the reports officer is responsible for the conceptualization and consolidation of donor reports for the oPt country office, based on information gathered from programme sectors and zonal offices.

Specifically in consultation with the Deputy Representative she/he will:
1-Enhance positive relationships with donor groups through timely and accurate reporting and
monitoring of donor interests and information needs. This includes gathering of information, consolidation, editing and production of interim and final reports and the production and dissemination of the Annual Report, the Humanitarian Action Report (HAR) and the Consolidated Emergency Report, ensuring that they comply with UNICEF guidelines, are submitted in a timely manner and are accurate and clearly written.
2-Support the development and achievement of the 2010 office fund raising targets, collating/editing
proposals in collaboration with concerned programme sections and the Deputy Special
Representative and ensuring good donor relationship by liaising with donor representatives and
relevant UNICEF offices. This includes monitoring and follow-up on funding proposals to ensure that both OR and humanitarian funds are received in a timely manner and all donor agreements and
MOUs meet UNICEF requirements.
3-Support fundraising and other missions through the conceptualisation, compilation and preparation of briefing and other programme documents for advocacy and information sharing purposes.Interacts with all major partners in the different stages of CP programme/project implementation to follow up on agreements and recommendations.
4-Provide management indicators for monitoring purposes at weekly Programme Management Team (PMT) meetings and monthly Country Management Team (CMT) meetings and provide/collate inputs for internal reports when required.Writes programme/project status reports required for management donors, budget review, programme analysis, annual reports, etc.
5-Support capacity building on reporting, proposal development for programme staff to comply with
donor requirement and UNICEF standards.
6-Perform other duties as required.

Selection Criteria:
Academic
Qualifications


University degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations; or equivalent professional work experience in the communication area combined with university degree in a related discipline.
Work Experience Five (5) years progressively responsible professional work experience in communication, reporting, two(2)years of which should be in developing countries.

Other Skills and Attributes:
-Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written form; specific skills in report
writing and editing.
-Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas.
-Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with donor partners and potential donor groups.
-Strong working kknowledge of computer systems and applications, specifically interactive digital
media.
-Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Languages Fluency in English and another UN working language required. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset. Computer Very good working knowledge and use of computer applications, specifically office applications (Power Point, Excel and Word) and internet tools. Use of database and statistical software an asset.
