Background Information
UNIFEM oPt, within the framework of the Global Fund supported HIV/AIDS Programme "Scaling up universal access to prevention, treatment and care of HIV/AIDS - in the occupied Palestinian territory” will hire a consultant specialized in the relationship between violence against women, sex work, women victims of trafficking, and HIV/AIDS to provide technical assistance to local and international partners to the Global Fund Programme for the implementation of the programme activities. Under the overall supervision of UNIFEM oPt Head of Office and direct supervision of the Women Human Rights Project Manager, the consultant will carry out the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Design, in coordination with UNIFEM, an action plan for the dissemination of the results of the operational research undertaken by UNIFEM, submit it to UNIFEM and integrate UNIFEM team comments and revisions;
-Participate to the UN coordination and prevention group meetings, as requested by UNIFEM;
-Provide to Global Fund partners, as per UNIFEM request , recommendations, advises and technical inputs in the design and content of advocacy materials, intervention measures for the prevention activities, etc., ensuring a gender-sensitive and human-rights based approach.

Qualifications and Competencies:
Advanced University Degree (preferably in Public Health Management, Sociology or related disciplines); 4-5 years of experience in the area of public health, sexuality, violence against women, trafficking; thorough understanding of the Palestinian context and ability to effectively work in a multi-cultural environment. Fluency in English and Arabic.
