UNRWA/Assistant Head Teacher

These positions work under the supervision of the Head Teacher.
2. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:-

A. Assists the Head Teacher in the following functions:

i. Administers the school, including

a) custodianship and maintenance of the premises, equipment and supplies;

b) maintenance of school records; and

c) preparation of required correspondence and

reports.

ii. professional direction to the school, including:

d) preparation of school timetables;

e) inspection of classes to ensure curriculum is properly followed;

f) maintenance of order and discipline among pupils.

g) organization of parent/teacher activities.

B. Teaches a minimum of six periods per week in the school.

C. Replaces the Head Teacher in his absence;

D. Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

3. SUPERVISION:-
Assists in supervising all teachers, school attendants and other

support staff in the school.
4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:-

A. Education
Related Bachelor degree plus at least a one-year

Teacher Training Certificate

Five years satisfactory teaching experience in an

UNRWA school at grade 09 level

Fluency in English and Arabic languages.

5. EQUIVALENCY:-

When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of UNRWA Operations, Gaza, may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.
