Emergency Food Monitor

(Limited Duration Contract) : Band (C) /S1
DUTY STATION : Hebron Area
DEPARTMENT / DIVISION : Relief & Social Services Programme

PLACE IN THE ORGANIZATION

The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Food Monitoring Focal Point.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:

Food distribution monitoring

-To insure that protection measurements are considered.
-To insure that venues used for distribution are appropriate.
-To fill food distribution questionnaire.
-Conducts regular visits to Distribution Centers to ensure compliance with established standards.
-Confirms the quality of assistance received by beneficiaries (i.e. quantity, packaging, etc). Immediately reports any discrepancies to Food Monitoring Focal Point.
-Coordinate with the Distribution Team Leaders to ensure lists and schedules are updated.
-Coordinates with Community Representatives, CSO to prepare for distributions.
-Verifies beneficiaries receiving assistance against distribution lists.
-Conduct distribution monitoring and post-distribution monitoring as requested.
Community Outreach
-With support of Food Monitoring Focal Point, liaise with communities and camps to distribute SSN and Emergency Commodities materials. Establish and monitor application forms and collection boxes.
-Liaises with community members to communicate SSN and Emergency Programmes. Refers questions and complaints to the Food Monitoring Focal Point, ARSSO & M&E office.
-Coordinates with relevant stakeholders on the implementation of emergency projects (i.e. WFP Herder, food vouchers, SSNP.. etc.).
-Conduct Food Voucher workshops.
Field Monitoring
-Makes home visits to applicants as identified by Food Monitoring Focal Point and Field Researchers knowledge. Ensures all information for the verification of applications is included in the application form.
-Reports any violations in Emergency, and SSN procedures to the ARSSO and Food Monitoring Focal Point.
-Conducts verification of beneficiary lists from other emergency projects.
-Insure that food voucher processes are in line with instruction, and report any abuse to the Food Monitoring Focal Point, and the ARSSO.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Academic and professional qualifications:

-Completion of Secondary Education.
-Diploma or certificate in Social Work, Social Sciences, or related field.
-Preference will be given to BA holders.

Experience:

Two years experience in field and / or social work, experience collecting and verifying household data.

Language:

Excellent knowledge of Arabic & English (written and spoken).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

-Knowledge of Agency Rules, Regulations, and other UNRWA operating systems and activities.
-Knowledge of Database Systems and their use in Management, Monitoring, and Evaluation.
-Possession of a valid driving license.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

-The contractor may be required to work beyond the regular working hours.

-The contractor may be required to travel inside the areas of UNRWA operations.

-Only applications from Hebron City, Fawar & Arroub Camps in addition to surrounding villages will be accepted. I.e. No applications from other Sub Areas will be considered.

EQUIVALENCY:

Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered, should less than two qualified candidates are found.

REMUNERATIONS

GRADE : Band ”C” S1 (Limited Duration Contract)

MONTHLY BASE SALARY : 547.70JD+ Dependency Allowances payable and other benefits + (Medical Insurance) & Currency Adjustment Factor.
