The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from qualified candidates for the post of:
Operation Support Assistant

3-Department : Operations Support Officer Programme
4-Basic Salary : 691.6 JD
5-Allowances : Payable to spouse and up to seven children
6-Qualifications :
-A university degree, preferably in social science, political affairs, international relations, law or a related field
-At least two years of experience in humanitarian/relief emergency operations.
-Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic
7-Competencies
-Flexible, able to assess and analyse situations quickly, objectively and prudently;
-Ability to build and sustain effective work relationships with clients, partners and authorities to achieve common goals;
-Ability to counsel or deal with people who are in shock or suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder;
-Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multicultural environment;
-Very good communication skills;
-Ability to work under pressure and within a team;
-Ability to make immediate decisions in dangerous situations, to ensure the safety and security of personnel;
-Articulate, politically aware while remaining impartial and discreet at all times
8-DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
(A) Experience with radio communication procedures;
(B) Experience working in humanitarian and human rights affairs;
(C) Possession of Jerusalem ID and a valid driving license for more than two years. The incumbent must be in possession to travel in the field during the performance of his/her duties.
(D) Knowledge of Hebrew

The Agency maintains the discretion to fill future vacancies for this position from the roster without re-advertising the vacancy.
