Programme local Assistant
(Gaza)
Objective of the position
The Program Assistant will be responsible for visiting and monitoring the projects of the War Child Partners. The Program Assistant will work closely with the Representative to ensure the high quality of the War Child programme in the Middle East.

ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Programs
o Monitor and evaluate the assumptions of the Strategy and Programs and assess the impact of significant variations.
o Ensure periodic Program and Project monitoring and evaluations take place.
o Identify lessons learned, knowledge, and otherwise relevant information and proactively share these with War Child and partner organizations.
o Establish and maintain relationships with other International NGOs and government agencies.
o Procure Project proposals from Partners and ensure they follow the review and approval process.
Projects and Administration
o Regularly monitor Projects in terms of activities and their outputs, and beneficiaries.
o Provide the Partners with content support and organizational capacity building support.
General
o To work closely and effectively with the Representative.
o Writing of programme quarterly and annual reports.
o Liaise and coordinate with the government/ UN agencies and National-International NGOs
o To program regular visits to the partners to ensure the quality of the project supporting in the process of monitoring and evaluation.
o Participate in the NGOs meetings and any other meetings required.
o Supervise the implementation of the projects by the counterparts.
o Coordination of trainings and workshops provided by War Child.
o Liaise with professional counterparts of (inter)national authorities and organizations;
o Accompany the Representative or any War Child staff during their visits to Gaza.
o Dealing with relevant Gov. Offices.
o Any other tasks deemed appropriate by the Representative
Reporting
o Reports to the Middle East War Child Representative.
Basic Required Skills:
o Experience working in development programs in Gaza.
o Strong knowledge in the field of Children Rights, Protection and Advocacy.
o A demonstrated practical approach to work with partners.
- Skills and knowledge on the use of PME tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communicational skills
- Good knowledge of English and Arabic (written/verbal).
- Good knowledge of office used computer program packages.
- Use of own creativity, initiative and improvisation.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in dealing with difficult work conditions.
- Good reporting skills.

Conditions
o Part time job of 20 hours per week, distributed in 2-3 days according the needs of the program.
o Transportation allowance to travel for working reasons.

o Service contract for 9 months with possibility of extension to the following years
o The staff will follow the Terms and Conditions of employment of War Child for the Middle East.
Time-frame
Candidates will be interviewed in early May in Gaza and the successful candidate is expected to start at the middle of May.
