Bayader for Environment & Development (Bayader) is a non – government organization established in 2007 aiming to develop the Palestinian community and society in child protection & education, development and institution building, community development, economic empowerment & civic participation and emergency response & early recovery.

Job summary:

Bayader in partnership with Global Communities is implementing Gaza Household WASH Activity (GHW) USAID-funded program. The three-year program will improve human health, environmental health and livelihoods in vulnerable communities by increasing access to facilities and services for safe domestic water and improved sanitation. Priorities include: 1) Providing durable solutions to vulnerable communities, such as the establishment, extension or rehabilitation of water distribution networks and sanitation systems at the household and neighborhood levels; and 2) Increasing emergency WASH preparedness interventions to mitigate and reduce rainwater and sewage flooding risks in vulnerable communities.

Bayader is seeking highly skilled staff to be hired for the following position:

Position Title: WASH Promoters

Place: Bayader Office, Khan Younis

Reports To: Program Coordinator.

Type of Contract: Service Contract

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct inspections/Audits home/field visits for targeted households in order to review the functionality of the household water and sanitation fixtures;
Conduct Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) promotion session for the target households.
Identify problems and provide sustainable changes of WASH knowledge, aptitudes and practices to the local communities.
Participate in the design of hygiene related assessments and surveys.
Identify any health and environmental risks related to the fixtures or lack of fixtures of the targeted households
Identify the most appropriate messages regarding the target population, and clearly communicate an understandable message.
Participate in mobilizing the community to change behaviors regarding hygiene practice.
Facilitate focus group, giving clear message on good hygiene practices.
Collate data from community and prepare regular reports on activities, and WASH conditions for monitoring,
Reporting of field activities to the Program Coordinator (materials delivered, work achieved, beneficiaries’ attendance, obstacles and constraints) taking into consideration reporting requirements and monitoring and/or evaluation tools and indicators.

متطلبات الوظيفة

Qualification and Experience:

Bachelor degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, public health, or any other related field with at least good grade.
Minimum 2 years proven relevant field experience in WASH projects.
Good knowledge of WASH inspection/auditing for households.
Good knowledge of WASH promotion tools and methods
Experience and understanding of WASH promotion and community mobilization in relation to water and sanitation activities.
Excellent reporting and formal writing skills.
Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Advanced computer literacy.
Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
Resident of Rafah, Khan Younis, Middle Area governorates.
