The Role
To work with the WASH program team as Program support officer toward making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of Palestinian communities facing crisis, poverty and injustice. The potential candidate will work on supporting the WASH program team in implementation of water, sanitation, hygiene projects including solid waste management, gender and protection mainstreaming.
The WASH support Officer will be responsible for monitoring the overall WASH field activities in Gaza Strip, documentation, reporting and tracking the projects progress toward projects targets ensuring that projects objectives are met. Moreover, to strengthen accountability both at community, partners and Oxfam levels and ensure that strong relationships with community members and stakeholders ensuring that interventions are contextually relevant and sustainable.

What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has:
- Graduate from a recognized university with relevant qualifications in engineering or projects management.
- At least 4 years’ experience of work in emergency or development context projects preferably in the field of water, sanitation and hygiene and/or protection.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective member of team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team and promotes high standards.
- Good knowledge in WASH and environment
- Able to collect, enter and analyze data against WASH indicators.
- Proven knowledge of computerized systems; high degree of computer literacy and word processing; professional in developing presentations and showing success
- Experience in working with partners including monitoring, capacity development and designing/facilitating capacity development in WASH and projects management.
- Demonstrated experiences of implementing MEAL practice Demonstrated experience of integrating gender and protection into programming.
- Has advanced reporting skills and ability to present concise reports, sometimes at short notice, reflecting the problems and possible solutions for particular situations.
- Diplomacy, tact and administrative skills in order to work with people at managerial and, on occasions possibly senior government levels.
- Ability to take decisions within agreed processes.
- Can effectively influence outside own team and successfully represent specific program or specific issues.
- Contributing to strategic development at a wider level within the programme.
- Ability and experience to train people.
- Potential and flexibility of attitude to learn.
- Successfully manages conflicting priorities, anticipates problems and regularly provides solutions.
- Good written and spoken English and Arabic.
Desirable
- Knowledge of other sectors – shelter, environment, policy and advocacy
- Very good command over written and spoken English and Arabic
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good skills in using MS Office, presentations tools and data analysis tools
- Commitment to the beliefs, aims and objectives of Oxfam.
- Demonstrated experience of integrating gender and protection into programming.
- Knowledge of PSEAH and environmental protection measures for WASH actions.
- Previous experience with Contracts Management.
What we offer
The employee will be contracted by Oxfam with a competitive, fair and comprehensive pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. Basic salary starts as 104,787 ILS gross per annum, for a 40-hour contract. The salary offered will be subject to funding available and competences.
