Contract duration: 2 months renewable according to funding
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Program coordinator, you will have to Implement domestic water supply activities in the assigned area including connection of electricity and plumbery, running of generator, and water distribution, Ensure that beneficiaries have domestic water in accordance to Solidarités International (SI) standards, and Maintain the equipment, ensure safe storage, regular maintenance, and repairs.
Job Description:
Set-up and operations
- Participate in data collection, needs assessment and program monitoring at field level
- Implement day-to-day domestic water supply activities according to program work plan and methodology validated by the management and report quickly to the line manager in case of problem or change.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of the mobile energy unit.
- Operate the mobile energy unit to ensure domestic water supply in the targeted area according work plan.
- Maintain the domestic water distribution network when any, including water tanks, pipes, taps and water points.
- Inspect service and repair components of the water network including water intakes, pipes, tap stands, water storage vessels.
- Prepare work orders for servicing and repairs and advice for major repairs.
- Establish preventative maintenance schedules.
- Explain to the beneficiaries the water supply related activities
- Report on a regular basis to the line manager about activity implementation and the difficulties faced in the field
- Be sensible to any information concerning the security in the area, report it as well as any incident to the Line Manager
- Respect Solidarités International (SI) humanitarian principles and working procedures, including administrative and logistics procedures
Reporting / communication / representation
- Report back to the Line Manager before, during and after any Water Supply related activities and any additional information related to WASH activities, and security context or any event that may affect Solidarités International activities and security.
- Report every day to the Line Manager regarding progress on Water Supply activities.
- Coordinate with program team.
- Participate to Program Meeting and Base Regular Meeting.
- Have and promote a good behaviour on the field as Solidarites International employee. Ensure personal flexibility (emergency phase), involvement and respect.

Studies: Professional diploma in plumbery or equivalent
Experience: 2 years’ experience in technical field and experience in similar position is an asset, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
Languages: Fluent in Arabic, English is an asset
Skills:
- Knowledge in electricity, mechanic, plumbery fields
- Knowledge and experience in plumbery items, construction, maintenance and repairs of small pipelines and networks
- Knowledge and experience in generator maintenance, use and repair
- Understanding of community-based and gender-sensitive approaches
- Willingness to work in the field and take part of the technical/practical work (plumbery, electricity etc)
- Very good communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders
- Teamwork spirit and ability to work effectively under pressure
