 Arab American University Jenin (AAUJ) has received a grant  from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) – MOEHE through the World Bank Tertiary Education Project to implement the project of "Mathematics Pre-Service Teacher Education Development Program" and intends to apply part of this grant for the recruitment of a highly qualified Web site Developer.
Arab American university announce the following vacancy to be financed as part of the project:

Position : Website Developer

 Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Project Coordinator ,the Web site Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:


1-Design, develop and maintain a new version of the Website for Math AAUJ project taking into account the following points:
-Informative, user-friendly, and attractive website including tools to enable user interaction.
-Bilingual – Arabic/English, searchable, easily accessible to include audio and video components, easily-updatable and manageable within the minimum IT skills.
-Consist of different sections; Static section in HTML format and a Dynamic section
-Compatible with different browsers and screen resolutions and contains the search function.

2-Closely work with the project management team to select and adjust the appropriate templates for the main, as well as internal pages of the website.
3-Uses a wide range of media, including photography and computer aided designs;
4-Provide Maintenance for the designed and approved website for the project life period.
5-Adheres to production schedules and deadlines;
6-Any other tasks as directed by the project coordinator
7-Submission of trial test design ( after 30 days from the date of delivery of required data ) and data updating before site final publishing to public
8-Training human resource needed to manage information system of the established website

Essential Required Qualifications, knowledge and Competencies:
1-Minimum of Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, IT, Web page Design; or any other related field.
2-Knowledge of Photoshop, Front page, Java script language, Acrobat, MX Flash and graphics applications.
3-Must have excellent design skills, including typography, layout, color, user interface and navigation;
4-Strong organizational skills & ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines is essential;
5-Must have understanding of the underpinning of the web development process;
6-Experience in programming in ASP.Net and the willingness to learn new development environments.
7-Experience with web servers (Microsoft IIS, Apatche, etc).
8-Good command of written and spoken English, and ability to communicate with users and organize in-house training courses on web design.
9-Good communication and interpersonal skills and experience in working effectively in a multicultural environment.
10-Need creativity for Web page design and writing skills.

Expected Outputs and Reports (Deliverables):-
-Website: The final Web Site shall be delivered to the Customer working and uploaded on the University web server on a CD and uploaded to hosting Web Server.
-CD: A full version of the web site pages and references should be on a CD as A back up copy.
-Tested links: All links contained in the Web Site shall be tested and confirmed in the final delivery to be accurate prior to delivery of the final Web Site to the customer.
-Developer shall retain a backup of the Web Site files relative to the accepted Web Site for a period of one month following final acceptance by the Customer.
-Admin Password and Username: Web site Administrator username and password should deliver to the client, and the developer has no right to access the web site after final delivery and maintenance.
-Troubleshooting period: after delivering the website the client has 3 months period for troubleshooting and for any modifications needed from the developer.

Duration of contract: The duration of the assignment is 18 months
Contract Type: Lump Sum.
