Handicap International is an international organisation specialised in the field of disability.  Non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-profit making, it works alongside people with disabilities, whatever the context, offering them assistance and supporting them in their efforts to become self-reliant. Since its creation, the organisation has set up programmes in approximately 60 countries and intervened in many emergency situations

Specific Objective : Persons with disabilities can access to holistic physical rehabilitation services in the West Bank
-Expected result 1 : The physical rehabilitation centres operating in the West Bank deliver holistic services.
-Expected result 2 : PwDs are able to obtain a diverse range of adapted to their specific needs and affordable assistive device (AD's)
-Expected result 3 : Accessible transportation options facilitate PWDs' access to rehabilitation services
-Expected result 4 : PWDs, their families and all relevant stakeholders have information about the existing rehabilitation services

THE JOB
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Disability Officer is responsible for:
-Develop of a network with service provider , DPO and stakeholders
-Identification, selection Training and financial support local organisation and partners on Accessible transport
-Organize two advertising campaigns to inform PWDs and their families about  services
-Support to the existing disability group composed by INGOs, NGOs, DPOs, authorities and service providers
-In charge of publishing of a comprehensive directory about rehabilitation services in the West Bank
-In charge of the initial and final survey of PWD with DPO on access to physical rehabilitation services
 
He/She will also assist
Skills required:
-Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy
-Fluent in both written and spoken English
-Excellent computer skills, especially in the use of publisher and Access
-Knowledge of project cycle management, especially logical frameworks
-Experience in designing and implementing training
-Willingness to travel to the field
-Excellent communication skills
-Excellent organisational skills
-Experience in the development sector is an asset
