The YWCA of Ramallah runs a multi-purpose community centre located in the heart of the Jalazone
refugee camp. Established in 1968, the facility runs a Kindergarten that serves the Jalazone preschool children ages 3-5, operates an embroidery production unit and provides other community services with special attention to women and youth.
A dynamic and enthusiastic female candidate is sought to support the management and coordination of the Jalazone Community Centre and will be recruited for the position of:
YWCA Jalazone Community Centre Coordinator
The incumbent reports to the YWCA of Ramallah Executive Director and will oversee the implementation of all center activities ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Center.
Specifically, the incumbent would be required to:
1-Establish appropriate management systems to ensure smooth operation of the facility on a day to
day basis
2-Oversee all the departments ( KG, embroidery, sports centre, women’s trainings) to ensure that all
planned activities are implemented in accordance with objectives, and within agreed upon timeframes, processes, procedures and budgets allocated
3-maintain strong linkages with community members and collaborate with them in the delivery of
services at the center
4-Provide supervision and leadership to all center staff for the development and coordination of all
programs
5-Monitor and deliver agreed project outcomes/milestones; ensuring quality and impact is measured appropriately
6-Initiate activities and programmes within the strategic direction of the YWCA and which respond
to community needs
7-Manage all office activities, including receiving visitors, petty cash, payments, preparing invoices
Qualifications/Experience:
-University degree in Business Administration or any related discipline
-Knowledge of the local community and experience in collaborating with a variety of community partners
-Have proven staff management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
-Be a team player and take a flexible approach to work and contribution to the team
-Have good communication and negotiation skills
-Be able to prioritize and manage a varied and demanding workload
-Have proven administrative skills
-Ability to draft reports and correspondence related to the Center
-Be a confident and competent user of IT systems
