UNRWA is the United Nations agency responsible for the protection, care and human development of a population of some 4.6 million Palestine refugees living in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Syrian Arab Republic. The Agency is committed to assisting Palestine refugees in maintaining a decent standard of living, acquiring appropriate knowledge and skills, enjoying the fullest possible extent of human rights, and leading a long and healthy life. UNRWA is by far the largest UN operation in the Middle East with over 29,000 staff. Most of the staff members are refugees themselves, working directly to benefit their communities – as teachers, doctors, nurses or social workers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate:
Be proficient user in the following editing suites used by the department notably:
-Adobe Premier CC 2015.
-Photoshop CC 2015.
-Final Cut PRO.
-Managing and editing all materials in production in a professional manner, from organising rushes, doing rough cuts and finalization.
-Editing soundtracks.
-Managing subtitles and graphics.
-Maintaining the working equipment in a responsible and capable way.
-Ability to meet demands under tough deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-Supervising interns and volunteers.
-Performs any other tasks assigned by manager/team.
-Adheres to UNRWA staff code and UNRWA work ethics.
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
-Two years Diploma at relevant faculty (arts, media, film etc).
-Previous professional Television/Film production experience.
-Minimum three years of relevant working experience (or 5 years if no diploma).
-Professional operating experience with professional equipment.
-Knowledge on archiving, tagging and binning rushes and clips and projects.
-Online editing / knowledge of online television production.
-Experience in working with children and adolescents.
-Knowledge of or experience with the humanitarian (UN/NGO) system.
-It’s desirable to have ability to work in English, musical/music composure skills.
-Knowledge of motion graphic and animation productions.
-Experience with productions formats for social media and social media engines and other platforms.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
-Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $910.60; currency adjustment factor (present rate 4.14%); monthly dependency allowance $18.65 and Group Medical Insurance GMI $11.00
-Contract Duration: Six months. Extension is subject to continued need, availability of funds and satisfactory service.
-Leave: 30 days annual leave.
-Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.
