Database Developer Required

As part of the tertiary Education Project financed by the international Development Association(IDA) and the European Commission (EC), The Arab American University (AAUJ) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund towards the cost of “Graduate tracing as a Means for self-assessment project” and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eleigable payments under the contract for highly qualified Database Developer.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1-Design,build and maintain dynamic  databse sites,using friendly –use database programs and tools

2-Produce the needed links to enable the database to get data from other resources (the AAUJ registration database,the AAUJ website .the Alumni website and others.

3-Testing the database functionality ,add,move,delete,edit and retrieve data

4-Enable authorization levels.

5-Enable many types of reports.

6-Fixing errors and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.

7-Create archiving ,backup and recovery procedures and ensure that they are functioning correctly.

8-Tune and optimize the performance of databases.

9-Write database documentation,including data standards,procedures,and definitions

10-Take in consideration the predicted growth of the database and plan its capacity

11-Apply the whole design in a simulation medium ,experiencing thorough tests before moving it to the production medium.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPTENECIES:

1-Bachelor degree in computer engineering, or computer science or any  other related field.

2-Three years of direct professional experience in database programming .

3-Excellent experience in one or all of database management systems:Access,ORACLE 9i/10g,MySQL

5-Has agood creative mind,High grasping power,adaptability to changes.

6-Ability to work in a team

7-Bilingual language (Arabic + English)

8-Detailed-Oriented with the ability to work effectively without supervision and to take responsibility for end-to-end delivery to the client.
