The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from qualified candidates for the post of:
Administration Assistant
1-Vacancy No. : 167/2014/X
2-Duty Station : Field Office Jerusalem
3-Department : Logistics Department/ Operations Support Team
4-Grade & Salary : Special Service Agreement (SSA): 1,050$.
5-Qualifications:
-University degree in Business Administration, or other comparative university degree.
-School graduate with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.
-A minimum of 3 years’ experience.
-Previous experience from the UN or development organizations an asset.
Competencies:
-Ability to perform a broad range of administrative functions, e.g., budget/work programme, human resources, database management, etc.
-Ability to apply knowledge of various administrative, financial and human resources rules and regulations in work situations.
-Is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results; shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges; remains calm in stressful situations.
-Ability to work under pressure and to use limited time and resources effectively.
-Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with other team members from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONS
-Work as and when required, which may include overtime.

carrying out duties and in interaction with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-Ability to plan own work and manage conflicting priorities.
-Ability to organize and coordinate administrative and logistical arrangements for meetings and conferences.
-Proficiency in MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel), and ability to navigate the Internet required.
-Solid planning, organizational and writing competencies.
-Ability to draft a variety of correspondence and other communications, summary reports, etc.
-Speaks and writes clearly, listens to others, requests clarifications when needed and engages in two-way communication, and demonstrates openness in sharing information.
-Works with colleagues to achieve UNRWA goals, participates in knowledge sharing and demonstrates a willingness to learn from others and solicits input, and supports and acts in accordance with team decisions.
