The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from
qualified candidates for the post of:

Deputy Field Emergency Officer

1-Vacancy No. : 140/2013/X
2-Duty Station : Field Office Jerusalem
3-Department : Emergency Unit
4-Basic Salary : Starting from 982.0JD (and exchange rate adjustment) + that varies in
accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency.Other fringe benefits
include provident fund & health insurance.
5-Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse.
An allowance of 1000 NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate.

6-Qualifications:
-Academic and professional qualifications: A university degree in Project Management,
Development Studies, Business Administration, Engineering or any other relevant field. A
Master degree is an asset.
-A minimum of eight years’ experience in administrative positions of which at least four years
should have been in a large governmental or international organization at a senior level.
-Computer literacy.
-Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Previous experience in the UN system is considered an asset.
-Previous professional experience in managing emergency funding and grants from a range of
major donors (such as ECHO, US, SIDA) in a large/international organization.
-Possession of a valid driving license.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-Preference will be given to Internal Staff.
-High level of inter-personal skills.
