The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from
qualified candidates for the post of:
1-Vacancy No. : 069/2013/X
2-Duty Station : Field Office - Jerusalem
3-Department : Operations Support Officer Programme
4-Basic Salary : 708.8 JD+ that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency.
Other fringe benefits include provident fund & health insurance.
5-Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse.
An allowance of 1000 NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate.
6-Qualifications :
-A university degree, preferably in social science, political affairs, international relations, law or a
related field.
-At least two years of experience in humanitarian/relief emergency operations.
-Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic
Competencies
-Flexible, able to assess and analyze situations quickly, objectively and prudently.
-Ability to build and sustain effective work relationships with clients, partners and authorities to achieve common goals.
-Ability to counsel or deal with people who are in shock or suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
-Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multi-cultural environment.
-Very good communication skills.
-Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
-Ability to make immediate decisions in dangerous situations, to ensure the safety and security of personnel.
-Articulate, politically aware while remaining impartial and discreet at all times.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Experience with radio communication procedures.
-Experience working in humanitarian and human rights affairs.
-Possession of a valid driving license for more than two years. The incumbent must be in possession
to travel in the field during the performance of his/her duties.
-Knowledge of Hebrew.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The incumbent will be required to work long hours in difficult and stressful conditions.
