MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate will:
-Have overall responsibility for developing and implementing the production plans, often times with limited resources
-Ensure that all productions adhere to strict deadlines and be in accordance with the vision of UNRWA management, which is derived from the needs of refugees.
-Develop and implements productions plans and will be required to: collect the needed information about the filming topics; manage the directing and filming; organize the filming schedules; supervise the progress from pre-production to post production and regularly report on it; strictly adhere to the production timetables; and obtain feedback from refugees in Gaza and proactively and creatively revise products based on their inputs.
-Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
-BA in Business Administration, Journalism, Media, or other related field;
-A minimum of three years experience in managing TV production teams and producing;
-Knowledge of UNRWA including its programmes, initiatives, and policies;
-Solid communication, technical, and organizational skills;
-Experience working with children in drama productions;
-Positive, problem solving attitude;
-Operational knowledge of video editing systems;
-Operational knowledge of variety of video and audio equipment;
-Skilled in Microsoft Office and internet;
-Ability to work well under extreme pressure;
-Fluent in Arabic; working knowledge of English
-It is desirable to have a driving license


CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
-Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary ranges from $1,356.50 to $2,855.50 and will depend on the qualification and experience of the selected person; plus a currency adjustment factor (present rate 15%).
-Contract Duration: six months. Extension is subject to continued need, availability of funds and satisfactory service.
-Leave: 30 days annual leave.
-Other conditions of service and benefits may apply including family allowance and medical insurance.
-A regular staff member can apply to this LDC post but will not be allowed to assume such post through secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current post to accept LDC appointment.

EQUIVALENCY :
Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered

With their prior agreement, candidates who are approved as suitable for appointment but are not the selected candidate for this vacancy, will be placed on the Agency’s roster of pre-approved candidates for a period of up to one year, and may be considered for future vacancies in the same position.
The Agency maintains the discretion to fill future vacancies for this position from the roster without readvertising the vacancy.
