Project Coordinator

Location:Gaza Field
Type of Appointment:OD 29 Contract

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project Coordinator will work under overall supervision of Job Creation Programme Management and under direct supervision of Senior Employment Officer (External). The Project Coordinator is expected to assume the responsibility of JCP related issues of the Early Recovery Shelter Cash for Work.

In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate:
-In consultation with JCP Manager, JCP Projects Coordinator, JCP Head Monitors, identifies potential placement opportunities for creating short term and meaningful job positions outside and inside UNRWA installations;
-Liaises with relevant NGO partners to formulate project outline, implementation and supervision structure; coordinates with municipalities and other external partners;
-Liaises with JCP Head Monitors and Monitors to ensure proper and regular monitoring of activities, attendance and outputs;
-In consultation with the Analyst Programmer produces statistics and data on projects and collects data and information on the progress of project implementation for use in the monthly monitoring reports;
-Reports to the JCP Projects Coordinator on a regular basis on project progresses and problems, proposes adjustments and solutions; prepares progress and final reports for implemented JCP projects;
-Organizes field visits for the JCP manager, and front office;
-Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
-A university degree from an accredited educational institution in business administration, engineering, IT or other related field;
-At least one year of working experience in UN, NGOs or related areas in tasks directly related to fieldwork;
-Plans, prioritizes, and delivers tasks on time to meet established goals;
-Participates effectively in a team-based, information-sharing environment, collaborating and cooperating
with others;
-Accepts additional responsibilities as required by the demands of service.
-Establishes clear performance goals, standards & responsibilities, manages them accordingly;
-Promotes a learning environment;
-Implements day-to-day tasks systematically & efficiently;

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
-Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $980.00.
-Contract Duration: six months. Extension is subject to funds availability, continuing need and satisfactory
performance.
