BIRZEIT UNIVERSITY has received a grant from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education
through the Education to Work Transition Project of the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) funded by
the World Bank for the project entitled: “Private Sector-University Cooperation for Smooth Transition
from Education to Work-PSUC-STEW”. Accordingly, BIRZEIT UNIVERSITY seeks the
selection and employment of a Project coordinator to work in the project implementation.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities :
The coordinator will be responsible for the following tasks:
1-Work on administrative forms, reports and financial documents of the project.
2-Follow-up all procurement and financial issues related to the project in accordance with the
World Bank procurement procedures and guidelines.
3-Schedule, attend, and prepare minutes of the meetings for the project’s different activities.
4-Assist in preparing specifications and terms of reference for equipment to be purchased.
5-Assist in procedures relating to receiving and installing equipment.
6-Assist in preparing technical reports regarding the purchased equipment.
7-Assist in preparing terms of reference for hiring project consultants.
8-Participation in creating communication channels with local industry towards cooperation, and
communications in issues related to the project.
9-Preparing work plans for cooperation with local and international companies and assisting in
their implementation.
10-Participation/coordination of gap analysis/need assessment study.
11-Assist in field studies, data gathering and analysis.
12-Participation and coordination of advisory board, advisory committee, and technical advisory
committees to be formed within the framework of the project.
13-Follow up all issues related to the Cooperative Education (CO-OP) program including invitation
of companies to join the program, selection of students, training offered to students, placement
of students in companies, etc.
14-Carrying out all administrative issues related to the QIF project.
15-Writing the quarterly progress reports and any other reports requested by BIRZEIT UNIVERSITY
and the QIF project Coordination Unit at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
-Minimum of Bachelor degree preferably in engineering, IT, or Business.
-Minimum of two years of experience in project implementation e.g. development project, preferable
QIF projects.
-Administrative skills, preferable training courses in project management.
-Excellent communication and team work skills.
-Excellent English language.
-Excellent report writing.
-Budgeting and Computer Skills.
Contract type: Time based contract
