Announcement for Job Vacancy

Birzeit University has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) - Education to
Work Transition Project - Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank
for the project entitled: “Development of Palestinian Archaeology program for Rural Tourism”. Accordingly, Birzeit University seeks the selection and employment of a Project Coordinator.

Assignment Objective
Birzeit University is considering the selection of highly qualified Project Coordinator responsible for
the overall implementation of all project activities under the supervision of the Project Director.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following tasks:
1-Work on administrative forms, reports and financial documentation of the project.
2-Follow-up all procurement and financial issues related to the project in accordance with the World Bank procurement procedures and guidelines.
3-Coordinate, attend, and prepare minutes of the project various committees, meetings and activities.
4-Assist in procedures relating to receiving and installing equipment.
5-Assist in preparing technical reports regarding the purchased equipment.
6-Assist in preparing terms of references for hiring project consultants.
7-Participation in creating communication channels with various stakeholders towards cooperation,
and communication in issues related to the project.
8-Collect the project documentation, and feed its Web Page with its data.
9-Insure the implementation of the project work plan and report every stage to the steering committee
10-Monitor and Assist in field studies, data gathering and analysis.
11-Carrying out all administrative issues related to the QIF project.
12-Writing the quarterly progress reports and any other reports requested by Birzeit university and
the QIF project Coordination Unit at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
13-Coordinate any other project pertinent tasks emerged during the project.

Required Qualifications& Skills:
1-Minimum of Bachelor degree preferably in Business Administration, Archeology or tourism, or
any relevant field.
2-Two years’ experience in project design and implementation preferable development and/or tourism projects.
3-Administrative skills, preferable with background training in project management, budgeting
and financial administration.
4-Excellent communication, team work and community outreach skills.
5- V. Good English language.
6-Excellent report writings in Arabic and English.
7-Computer Skills and control over various software: MS word, excel, database management,
(preferable Photoshop, GIS, and SPSS).

Birzeit University

Time Frame:
The duration of the assignment is 25 months. The coordinator shall work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
