The European Union (EU) and the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) are implementing a three-year Technical Assistance project to improve and develop the Social Protection System in Palestine through Partnership Planning and Institutional Capacity Building. In this context, Regional Coordinators will be recruited to support, disseminate, coordinate and follow-up on the project activities with the offices of MoSA, NGOs, donor organisations, and relevant line Ministries in
each selected pilot Governorate, namely Nablus, Hebron and Abu-Dees.
Specific tasks:
-Under the supervision of the Project Team Leader, and in close collaboration and cooperation with the Technical Assistance team, the Regional Coordinator will perform the following tasks:
-Represent the Technical Assistance team within the MoSA regional Directorates in full coordination with the Regional Directors.
-Organize and coordinate meetings, trainings, and other activities relevant to the project in their Governorate.
-Prepare reports, minutes of meetings and convey them to the project team.
-Assist in the organization of the agreed planning and coordination mechanism in their Governorate.
-Facilitate coordination among the local stakeholders and members of the agreed planning mechanism.
-Collect data, information and write research papers on the relevant project themes.
-Work with the MoSA regional Directorate staff on the various capacity building activities.
-Attend and contribute to team meetings in the main office in Ramallah as needed.
-Support the Technical Assistance team in all aspects of project implementation including preparing mission plans, organising meetings and others.
EXPERT PROFILE
-Minimum of BA in social science
-At least 5 years of experience in the fields of social protection, policy, services and community development.
-Experience in community organization and mobilization, workshop organization and facilitation.
-Previous experience in working in international organizations, preferably the EU, an asset
-Familiarity with the pilot Governorates and its institutions.
-Excellent interpersonal, communication and coordination skills.
-Good project management skills
-Good writing and reporting skills.
-Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Internet use
-Excellent knowledge of both Arabic and English –both spoken and written
Starting date
Early October 2013 (approximate); the contract will be for one year and will be renewed based on need.
