Bayader, 7 local CSOs and 7 SHGs in Khan Younis Governorate have the capacity and competence to work with advocacy related to environment protection towards duty-bearers within a human-rights based approach (HRBA). The project will conduct a select the 7 CSOS and establish 7 Self-help groups SHGs and conduct capacity building program for Bayader, CSOs and SHGs in the areas of advocacy methods, community participation, democratic decision making, accountability, and transparency within HRBA. Then, Bayader, CSOs and SHGs will be engaged to develop their advocacy strategy and procedures, which will enable them to advocate for the fulfilment of environmental rights on behalf of the communities they represent.
7 municipalities in Khan Younis Governorate will be strengthened in their roles as principal duty-bearers to environmental concerns of the communities. The project will conduct a capacity building program related to governance, accountability, transparency, participation and democratic decision-making processes. Also, the activities include creating and updating community participation strategies and procedures for municipalities.
Increased responsiveness of duty-bearers to their obligations and fulfilment of community rights to proper environmental services through community mobilization. The project will implement interventions aiming at sensitizing the community on their rights, and duties of municipalities in environment protection, as well as promoting community awareness for behavioral change towards environmental custodianship, management of public properties and good hygiene. This include multi-level community awareness campaigns on environmental issues which will be designed and implemented by CSOs and SHGs. Also, the CSOs, SHGs and municipalities will be engaged to design and implement 7 participatory environmental initiatives.

We are aiming to select the consultant by 14/04/2022, and start the contract on 17/04/2022. The deadline for submitting all deliverables will be 18/09/2022.
Any Proposal received after the due date will be rejected.
