About “Green West Bank” Project

Through its portfolio titled “Green West Bank”, Enabel will build on the successes of governmental cooperation over the past decade on one hand and, on the other hand, also provide a response to the Palestinian and global challenges of this decade.

The new portfolio consists of 2 pillars: the first one focuses on the empowerment of youth based on civic engagement, protection and a continuum between developing competences, skills, access to employment and entrepreneurship. The second Pillar is dedicated to climate action, based on support for the development of an emerging green and circular economy with the view to contribute to a sustainable and inclusive Palestinian society and reduce environmental hazards and dependency on non-renewable natural resources.

Through the second pillar dedicated to climate actions, Enabel aims to develop a roadmap of two composting facilities in the West Bank (North and South). In addition, within the project’s scope, to analyze and further develop two other existing composting facilities and the possible link-up of a local vegetable market in the West Bank to one of the existing facilities. The outputs of this consultancy will represent important inputs for Enabel and will help in the decision-making process of to further develop the field of composting in West Bank.
