Community Vulnerability & Capacity Needs Assessment/ Gaza Strip
Overview:
SOS Children's Villages Palestine (hereafter: SOS Palestine) has been active in the Palestinian Territories since 1966 and is registered locally there as a non-profit, non-governmental organization. The national office of SOS Palestine is located in Bethlehem and projects and programs are implemented in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The main focus of the work is the placement of children and adolescents in a family environment (SOS Children's Village) and community-based programs on education, health, and psychosocial and economic empowerment of families. Another focus is capacity building of local community structures and community-based support mechanisms for vulnerable families. SOS Palestine's activities are largely funded by SOS Children's Villages worldwide and other SOS Association.
Objective:
SOS Palestine is seeking to engage a highly qualified local company or consultant to conduct community vulnerability and capacity needs assessment for Gaza Strip.
Evaluation Method: Cost & Quality Based Selection
Weights: 70% Technical, 30 Financial
Minimum Qualifications: the consultant must at least have:
Proven competency (record of previous experiences) in project/programme evaluations, including formative programme evaluations /needs assessments
Good understanding of humanitarian and development work in Gaza-Strip
Good understanding of child rights and issues affecting vulnerable children and their families.
Good facilitation, organizational and interpersonal skills
Proven experience in participatory processes and data collection methods (including age appropriate data collection methods)
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Excellent written communication skills
