Background
About PWWSD:
The Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development (PWWSD) is a non-governmental women’s developmental and human rights organization established in 1981. PWWSD aims to contribute to the feminist struggle within national social and developmental dimensions, advocating for a free and democratic Palestinian society based on gender equality, respect for human rights, and social justice. PWWSD promotes women's empowerment and participation in national development and the struggle against occupation.
As technology plays an increasingly important role in our operations, we aim to enhance our efficiency and ensure a proper and efficient computer system. The Computer Watch Specialist/Company will help us establish and manage this system in an ethical, transparent, and effective manner
Objectives of the task
The Computer Watch Specialist/Company will:
- Oversee the IT needs of the organization's main and regional offices, including system installations, maintenance, support, and technical advice.
- Manage relationships with external system support providers as needed.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on computer usage to enhance productivity and security.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection standards.
Scope of Work
The responsibilities of the Computer Watch Specialist/Company will include:
- Assess and evaluate PWWSD’s current IT infrastructure, including hardware, Software management, network systems, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Identify missing systems, hardware, or resources within the organization, and provide recommendations for purchasing or installing necessary equipment or software to improve efficiency.
- Manage and maintain LANs (Local Area Networks) in the organization’s main office and field offices.
- Monitor computer usage to identify trends, inefficiencies, and potential risks.
- Tain staff on database use and entry when needed.
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting.
- Develop and monitor the network inside the organization regularly
- Maintain a safe running database system
- Continuous follow-up and repair of computers, servers, printers, and other related systems in the organization(of not less than 30 devices )
- Camera software maintenance.
- Create and maintain thorough documentation of all installed systems, configurations, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
- The work will cover mainly the Ramallah office and the other branches when needed(Nablus, Tulkarem, Jenin, Bethlehem)
- Any other related tasks
Deliverables
- Fully operational computer monitoring system tailored to the PWWSD requirements.
- Training sessions for staff on computer use.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience with computer monitoring systems and cybersecurity tools.
- Strong understanding of data privacy monitoring practices.
- Experience working with NGOs
- Proficiency in training and capacity-building activities related to computers.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Reporting and Supervision
The Computer Watch Specialist/Company will report directly to the supervisor, providing regular updates on system performance, training activities, and reports.
Duration and Work Schedule
- The position/task is for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and organizational needs.
- The Specialist/Company is expected to work Part-time hours (10 hrs. per week)
