Data Collector Services / Individual
1. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Handicap International (which runs projects under its operating name, Humanity & Inclusion (HI), is an independent and impartial international aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights. Handicap International is a not-for-profit organisation with no religious or political affiliation. It operates as a federation made up of a network of associations.
HI has operated in Occupied Palestinian Territories Since 1996, implementing various actions with local partners in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. In a territory beset by chronic crises, political instability, and a declining economic and social situation since the second intifada in 2000.
Scope of the assignment:
HI is seeking to select experienced individuals in data collection of different stakeholders supported by various HI projects. Specifically, mobile data collection using Survey CTO Software. The services requested after selection shall be on an ongoing basis and as per the request of HI, where the contracting agent shall commit to deliver the different services as per the period of the contract.
The responsibilities will include conducting both quantitative and qualitative data collection, as well as data entry tasks, ensuring comprehensive and accurate data management for HI's ongoing and future projects.
2. DESCRIPTION OF THE REQUIRED TASKS
- Data collection of beneficiaries, partners, authorities’ officials, training participants and/or other stakeholders quantitative and qualitative data through Surveys, Questionnaires, Key Informant Interviews, Observations, Focus Group Discussions, and other modalities of data collection.
- Specifically, for data collection services it could be requested to be done face-to-face through home visits and/or over the phone.
- All deliverables will be according to the Purchase Orders (PO) when selected.
- The data collectors are responsible of all the needed equipment for the data collection (except for a SurveyCTO License), including tablets/mobiles, printing papers (if any), laptops, cars, etc.
- METHODOLOGY AND APPROACH
The service will involve the following phases:
Initial phase: include the preparation for the data collection, induction to the tool.
Field phase: coordination, data collection.
Reporting phase: data entry, data cleaning, filling relevant document, archiving both hard and soft copies.
- DELIVERABLES
The Data collector shall produce and submit in the English language the following documents:
- Weekly updated schedule and progress.
- Daily updated and validated timesheet by the MEAL Officer and/or IM Officer.
- LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT
The length of the assignment is defined in the contract, and the selected individuals will be involved in all data collection exercises under MEAL activities for all grants.
6. COST
- The daily cost for providing data collection will be 120 ILS (transportation & communications are included in the cost).
- The work of the data collector will be decided by the HI technical focal person (MEAL Officer and/or IM Officer)
- Payment will be on a monthly basis upon the working days and validation of the working sheet by the project manager.
7. SERVICE PROVIDER PROFILE
- Bachelor's degree with proven experience relevant to data collection and conducting surveys.
- Extensive experience in data collection.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic.
