Mental Health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP) Trainer and Supervisor
General Background
Médecins du Monde Switzerland (MdM-CH), founded in 1993, is a medical association of international solidarity that is part of the Médecins du Monde network. It provides sustainable access to health care for people in vulnerable situations around the world.
MdM-CH, has been working in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) since 1994 in the sector of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), implementing emergency and development interventions, focusing on victim of occupation-related violence, children and detention, suicide prevention and management, strengthen of access to mental health cares at national and community level, and advocacy initiative.
Purpose of the collaboration
MdM-CH seeks to hire a certified trainer to deliver mhGAP training and supervision sessions, adopting MdM-CH tools and methodology.
Objectives and Responsibilities:
The objectives of the collaboration are the following:
Delivery of Trainings:
The Trainer will deliver 2 mhGAP trainings to Primary Health Care (PHCC) staff trainees (doctors, nurses, social workers). Each training will last 5 days, provided in Arabic (presentations in English), based on the mhGAP intervention Guide for mental, neurological and substance use (MNS) disorders in non-specialized health settings and taking into consideration the piloted protocols designed by the National Mental Health Program for the screening, assessment and management of depression, anxiety and PTSD in primary health care centers.
During the training the following topics will be covered:
Supervision sessions:
The trainer shall provide 6 supervision sessions, one session per month for the targeted trainees of each mhGAP training (a total of 12 sessions for the two groups)
Target population
General practitioners, Nurses, Social workers, and other relevant PHCC staff working in the PHCCs supported by MdM and their partners.
Schedule:
Location: The trainings will take place in East Jerusalem, in person (MdM-CH will provide all the logistics needed).
Date of the trainings: October 2024 and December 2024
Duration of the training: 5 days each training (total of two trainings)
Duration of the supervision: once per month until June 2025.
Deliverables:
1. Introduction: Training overview, learning objectives, trainer and participant details.
2. Presentation of training outcomes: Pre-post-test results (graph), analysis of
evaluation, any additional feedback from participants and trainer.
3. Annexes (Agenda, signed and scanned attendance sheet, pre-posttest template, evaluation template)

Technical offer composition (in English) including
CV including previous experience for similar training.
Financial offer in USD composition (in English) divided per training day and 2 hours supervision session including transportation and including taxes & MOF tax 10% .
