Greater gender equality in Palestine
The Women's Affairs Technical Committee is a non-profit feminist coalition formed of women's frameworks, and a group of women interested in women's issues. Struggles for the realization of the rights of Palestinian women, in the light of a free Palestinian society, which secures and protects the rights of its members without discrimination of color, gender or religion. WATC seeks to enhance the political and social role of Palestinian women, with the aim of achieving social justice.
WATC is implementing the "Equal Roots" project in partnership with Alianza por la Solidaridad (APS), the Palestinian Information and Communication Technology Incubator (PICTI), the Palestinian Family Planning and Protection Association (PFPPA), and the Association Culture and Free Thought (CFTA).
This project aims to contribute the promotion of gender equality in the Occupied Palestinian Territory by increasing access to specialized services focused on survivors especially sexual and reproductive health, strengthening actions for women’s economic independence and economic rights, and enhancing women’s capacities to exercise their active citizenship by strengthening its role in advocacy campaigns, and contributing to changing patriarchal norms and gender-harming perceptions.
Within the framework of the implementation of the "Equal Rooting" project implemented by WATC and in partnership with Alianza por la Solidaridad, WATC invites the competent authorities and those registered with the official departments in the West Bank, those who have experience in assessing capacities and needs of community based organizations and working on gender and empowerment projects, applying to implement the assessment of the capabilities and needs of partner CBOs in the project intervention areas for the year 2023, in order to implement organizational assessment for CBOs With the aim of assessing resources, skills, systems and programs with a special focus on women and gender issues, in addition to identifying needs and gaps, designing a financial and administrative regulations for the targeted associations (if necessary), and developing recommendations for capacity building interventions.
