About AFSC

Founded in 1917, the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is an international organization that works with communities and partners worldwide to challenge unjust systems and promote lasting peace. In collaboration with communities and local partners, we nurture the seeds of change and respect for human life that transform social relations and systems. AFSC’s programs foster understanding and reconciliation, promote economic development and food security, educate the public on various social issues, and foster diversity, inclusion, and equality in communities around the world.

About the project

Palestinian Youth: Together for Change Project, (PYTC3.0), funded by BftW and implemented in partnership between AFSC, Pal-Vision and Baladna Association.

The project aims to brings Palestinian youth from their various locations in historic Palestine together to overcome political and social fragmentation through organizing exchange visits and tours in different location in 48, Jerusalem and West Bank. In each planned exchange tour, participants are exposed to the visited localities history, landscape, and the current social fabrics. Additionally, in the tours, experts present the aspiration and dreams of local communities in addition to current realities to dismantle general stereotypes and expose how geographical and political fragmentation had impacted the Palestinian community.

Due to current movement restrictions, AFSC and partners is looking at creative tools to deliver messages to a wider group of beneficiaries to widen the impact. One of the proposed alternative activities is to develop existing Two board games used with participants to an interactive, multiplayer e-games. These e-games, as a web-based application, aims to enhance knowledge on the national identity, historical heritage knowledge and the Palestinian cause among the targeted group of beneficiaries.
