MA’AN Developments Center is an independent, non-governmental, Palestinian development and training institution established in January 1989 and registered as a non-profit organization (hereafter - NGO). The main office is located in Ramallah with branch offices in Gaza and Jenin. The necessity informs MA’AN's work of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporates values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.

MAAN Development Centre, in partnership with NRC (Norwegian Refugee Council), and funded by ECHO, is implementing a project “Integrated Humanitarian and Protection Response to improve the well-being of the most vulnerable population in Gaza and reduce risks from conflict, violence, and disasters”

NRC together with MAAN will work with individuals in communities that are identified as being at high risk of future violence to develop and implement self-protection strategies to reduce the impact of the blockade of the Gaza Strip on vulnerable and at-risk populations by enhancing their resilience and psycho-social well-being while supporting their capacity to cope with socioeconomic challenges.

 The activity includes delivering a specialized training program for parents and caregivers on on human rights and protection violations, protection services available in Gaza, child protection and GBV, positive discipline for parents, and protection risk mapping. disaster-risk reduction. This activity is designed to deal with and overcome surrounding challenges to develop competencies to become more effective and resilient in their families and communities.
