MA’AN has been working on promoting entrepreneurship in Palestine applying gender-responsive and environmentally friendly strategies. In 2018, MA’AN established a HUB for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. It is an institutional body works to spur innovation and entrepreneurship across the Gaza Strip. It fosters Innovation to address economic and environmental challenges. The HUB is part of MAAN Development center programs. The HUB brings together leading higher education institutions, research institutions, and private industry to form dynamic partnerships to enable innovators and entrepreneurs and to link them to the local markets

In 2020, the hub received an innovation fund to test the Water Magnetic Technology in a scalable scope and implemented the experiment in three different locations on three different crops. The experiment team along with the steering committee team ensured that the implementation of the experiment on the ground is well controlled to provide valid and reliable information on the effect of the technology on each of the three crops. statistical analysis results showed positive influence of using the device, 36 farmers were engaged in in-field participatory technology development and witnessed the added value of the device on the tested crops. Despite that, conflicted results were appeared by other farmers who have tested the device outside the Hub experience. The conflict results might be due to selecting improper level of water salinity, different crops, various soil pattern, lack of the know-how or any other reasons.

MA’AN seeks a qualified consultant with proven experience in the field of the sought consultancy. The consultant should present set of qualifications and technical backgrounds that suits the scope of the consultancy.  

The expected key qualifications: 

• At least 5 years’ experience working in research
• Extensive knowledge and proven experience in proposal writing. 
• Knowledge of business environment in Gaza Strip is an advantage. 
• Knowledge of regional/global markets and export procedures is an advantage. 
• Experience in agriculture and water sector will be an advantage.
