Developing a National and Regional Alumni Program Concept and Roadmap to Implementation for EcoPeace Middle East

Within the Scope of

Alumni Program under the GWN Project funded by Sida 2018- 2022

General information

Introduction/ Background

EcoPeace Middle East is a unique Jordanian-Palestinian-Israeli organization that seeks to advance cooperative efforts to protect our shared environment, promote sustainable regional development, and create the conditions for lasting peace in our region. For over two decades, EcoPeace Middle East has exemplified that cooperation over shared environmental issues, in particular water issues, can advance concrete solutions that change national policies and bring real benefits to people and communities on the ground.

EcoPeace's flagship Good Water Neighbors (GWN) program encourages Palestinian, Jordanian and Israeli youth, young professionals, entrepreneurs and decision makers to become knowledgeable about the transboundary nature of environmental challenges in our region, and develop innovative ways to resolve shared environmental concerns. The GWN program was initiated in 2001, and over the years continued to evolve and innovate with new program components.

The Objectives of the Assignment (Scope of Work) & Outputs:

The consultant will be expected to provide:

In-depth analysis of needs and opportunities for an EcoPeace alumni program (collecting input from relevant EcoPeace staff and program participants/ Beneficiaries), on the basis of which will be developed:

A detailed program for alumni engagement, including program goals, objectives and tactics

A stepped plan describing how to implement the program, including activities and timelines

Description of resources required for the implementation of the program, including staffing needs, database needs, communication means, etc.

The above deliverables shall cover each the four targets groups (youth (15-17), teachers, young professionals and entrepreneurs) and include detailed needs-assessment based proposals that cover the following:

An alumni information platform to facilitate communication and participation through segmented mailing list/s, professional opportunities, etc.

Suggested alumni activities such as refresher/ advanced courses and training programs, informal gatherings, periodic meet ups etc.

Alumni capacity building, particularly with regards to professional and leadership skills

Concrete national, regional and international networking and internship opportunities

Alumni engagement in other EcoPeace events and activities as mentors or speakers.

Ways to engage alumni in mobilizing local community activities

Duties & Responsibilities:

The consultant will work closely with EcoPeace team Between (Time Frame February – March 2022) (60 Days) with Individual contract modality and expected to perform the following tasks:

- Building an alumni impact tree

- Building the alumni program plan

- Proposing the needed trainings / activities per group

- Conducting two days (12 hours) skills training workshop for EcoPeace team to ensure all staff are aware of and capable of using the necessary tools for interaction.

NOTE: EcoPeace will cover all the costs that is related to the Workshop arrangement and the travel cost for the participants and the Consultant. (If the workshop is conducted in Person not over zoom).

VIII. Submission of Proposal:

The price should be in US Dollars and inclusive of income tax, other applicable taxes, or any other costs to complete the assignment.

Eligible Consultants should submit separate technical and financial proposals in electronic copy format to [email protected] with subject line Alumni Program

The Technical Proposal should cover:

Understanding and interpretation of the TOR.

Measurable goals, objectives, and the methodology to be used in undertaking the assignment- Indication of the period of availability to carry out the consultancy.

Evidence of conducting similar task and show proof of capabilities.

The consultant accepted fees per task.

A portfolio with similar assignments completed is a plus.

A proposal that includes a detailed Proposed Methodology, Approach and Implementation Plan (maximum 5 Pages)
