Call for Tender Researches (4x)
For the EU funded project “Civil Society for Dignity”, PAX on behalf of the project team is conducting a tender to commission 4 researches within the areas identified below. Applications of individual researchers as well as research collectives or institutions are accepted. 4 separate contracts will be signed with the awarded parties.
1) In light of good governance and accountability it’s important to have (local) non-governmental institutions taking part in setting up the strategic planning process for local authorities. How does the strategic planning process look like? What are possible ways for (local) non-governmental institutions to be involved in these processes? What are best practices established and lessons learned? What are specific recommendations for relevant stakeholders?
2) Social accountability tools and approaches are ways for citizens and non-governmental institutions to monitor and work together with local authorities to increase accountability. What are tools and approaches that might be relevant within the context of the West Bank including East Jerusalem? What different approaches might be needed for different areas and/or type of local authority? What are best practices established and lessons learned? What are specific recommendations for relevant stakeholders?
3) Meaningful participation of women and youth in local governance is essential in light of good governance, accountability and gender equality. What are ways to facilitate meaningful participation? What are important fora within the governance of local authorities to focus on? What are best practices established and lessons learned regarding women and youth participation in local governance? What are specific recommendations for relevant stakeholders?
4) Gender budgeting would potentially be a tool to foster gender equality. In what ways is gender budgeting already used by local authorities? Does it function, e.g. does it actually foster gender equality? What are the possibilities for increasing the use of gender budgeting? What are best practices established and lessons learned? What are specific recommendations for relevant stakeholders.
