RAM/2023/CLT/MA/221 : Riwaya Museum pilot content development _ script writing and audio-visual production
UNESCO Office in Palestine is implementing the project of the “Riwaya Museum” in Bethlehem Palestine, funded by Norway, in cooperation with the Museum’s Supervising Committee composed of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Municipality of Bethlehem, and Bethlehem Peace Centre in addition to other institutions. The aim is to establish a museum that operates as a venue for safeguarding and promoting Palestinian cultural diversity and fostering intercultural dialogue, in addition to serving as a touristic destination. The Museum aims to exhibit stories from Palestine and present a narrative/s from the history, culture, and heritage of Palestine. Using modern technologies including multimedia and sensible environments, the exhibition will display stories under nine themes, that are distributed in the museum’s space, which is home to an archaeological site that is thought to date back to the 7th Century AD and contains archaeological vestige. UNESCO has completed the renovation of the museum’s interior space according to the approved technical design, including having in place all the electromechanical installations and wiring networks required for the functioning of multimedia interactive exhibitions. In its endeavour to assist the Museum Supervising Committee to develop stories under the museum’s evolving themes, UNESCO seeks the expertise of a specialized production firm to pilot two themes inside the museum including script writing as well as artistic and audio-visual production.
