SPARK develops higher education and entrepreneurship to empower young, ambitious people to lead their fragile and conflict-affected societies into prosperity. SPARK is a dynamic and growing international not-for-profit development organisation with 100+ staff members in more than 14 offices around the world.

SPARK supports refugees in the Middle East by providing them with scholarships in universities and higher education institutions in the region. SPARK also supports young entrepreneurs in fragile states to start or grow their own businesses.

Summary:

To support the development of the Tech Ecosystem and Workforce in Palestine, Google has launched the “Palestine Launchpad Program” with the goal of helping 3,500 people in the developer and tech-start-ups community in Palestine to grow and find employment in Tech and elsewhere in the local economy.

Udacity and SPARK have co-designed a program with a series of interventions to bolster the tech ecosystem and workforce in Palestine. Udacity is a Silicon-Valley based global lifelong learning platform, with the mission of training the world’s workforce in the careers of the future. Udacity’s solution is a global pioneer in technology education. Udacity is partnering with SPARK, which mission is to develop higher education and entrepreneurship to empower young ambitious people to lead their conflict-affected societies into prosperity.

To achieve the mandate of the programme, the following objectives were set:

- Enroll at least 6,000 learners across Palestine in 7 cohorts in less than 3 years

- Achieve at least 60% graduation rate to ensure a minimum of 3,500 graduates

- Achieve +70% positive career outcomes
