BACKGROUND

QADER for Community Development is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting better well-being of persons with disabilities (PwD) in Palestine. QADER endeavors to positively influence public policies, develop capacities of relevant stakeholders, and promote public awareness and disseminate information pertinent to PwD rights and issues; all according to the priorities of PwD and on the basis of national and international human rights, and the principles of equality and social justice.

QADER was founded in 2008 by a group of Palestinian professionals with diversified expertise in health, disability, development, and human rights. Since its founding, QADER has assumed its functional responsibility thereinafter addressing the disability issue from a human rights perspective, and demonstrated a rights’ based approach in tackling the various issues of PwD.

About the project:

“Strengthening civil society engagement in promoting the rights of women and girls with disabilities in line with international instruments”

The project aims to promote the role of Palestinian civil society to become an effective force in the protection and monitoring of human rights in line with international human rights standards, conventions, and instruments. Its specific objective is to strengthen civil society action in the promotion and protection of universal human rights of women and girls with disabilities. It will do so through: strengthening civil society capacity in reporting on human rights violations; raising opportunities for effective engagement of civil society organizations to implement creative actions, including social media initiatives; and enabling improved dialogue between duty bearers and rights holders to promote the principle of non-discrimination and human rights of women and girls with disabilities

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMNET

The purpose of the assignment is to translate 3 documents from Arabic to English

DELIVERABLES:

3 community profiles translated from Arabic to English

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in translation or a related field.

Proven record of similar assignments.
