Provision of Translation Services (German to Arabic)

Background

SOS Children’s Villages is an international organization operates in Palestine since 1966. We offer services to vulnerable families in both Gaza & West Bank through our programs that aim at family strengthening, youth empowerment, and providing alternative childcare.

Goal

Within this context, SOS is seeking to engage a company/service provider for provision of professional translation services on an as-needed basis. The companies/service providers’ tasks will be delivering the below description of requirements and are expected to use their own necessary equipment.

Firms and organizations, and Freelance are welcome to submit their technical and financial proposals after careful reading of the terms and description.

Scope & Requirements

Professional Translation from German to Arabic for approx 55,700 words.
Produce 100% accurate translation of various documents, presentations assigned by SOS Palestine.
Use the appropriate terminology considering the style and details of the original text. Areas frequently covered by such documents include: moral and parental values in the family, communicational rules, relationship between parents and children, problem solving.
Quality check and proofreading of translation ensuring no typographical errors in the final text.
Make necessary corrections or changes required by SOS Palestine and re-submit corrected text within the agreed timeframe;
Deliver the final translated documents as per the plan to SOS Palestine

Training Timeline

Delivery of final translated documents must not exceed May 31st, 2022 (assuming awarding is notified by 30th of April)

Deliverables & Outcomes

Delivery of professionally translated manual/s including the design.

Eligibility Criteria:

The bidder must meet the following criteria:

Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and/or Interpretation (German-Arabic)
Minimum five years of relevant experience with a proven record in providing translation services from German to Arabic.
Must be a training firm/ organization/ Company/Institute or Licensed Freelance Trainer.
Proven competency in the announced field(s).
A very good understanding of child rights and issues affecting vulnerable children and their families.
Holding international or national certification in the required filed is a must.
For firms/ organizations/ companies/ institute must have an official record in at least one of the ministries in charge (MOF, MOHE, MOI, MONE).
Must commit to the timeline and quality of deliverables.
Technical Proposal Weight: 75%, Financial Offer Weight: 25%.

Application Process

Interested bidders are welcome to provide SOS Children Villages with the following Documents: (In one sealed envelope, that includes Technical & Financial Offers)

Technical Offer: Must include the following:

Description of work and action plan
Certificate of Registration.
Organization/Firm’s experience and history.
A copy of license (issued by ministry of justice)
Translator’s Resume
Should be stamped and Signed from the organization/company person in charge, with listing of contact details.

Financial Offer

Should be in ILS Excluding VAT.

Rate should be offered per number of translated words (German).

Should be signed and stamped.
Should have clear breakdowns for cost items. (if any)
Confirmation that the applicant is eligible to have a Zero-VAT Document from MOF
Payment Terms: within 10 days of the successful completion for the assignment, and acceptance of services based on full compliance with RFQ requirements (in case of translators from abroad payment may take two months)
