ActionAid Palestine welcomes young people, especially young women, to take advantage of its internship opportunities in both programs and operations. The internship program aims to provide a practical learning environment for young people, to enable them to gain knowledge and understanding and obtain work experience in the development sector.
An internship is not a regular position in ActionAid’s staffing structure. This Internship opportunity now open has learning objectives and focus on Communication and Graphic designing. Internship location will be in ActionAid Palestine office in Bethlehem.
Responsibilities:
The Intern’s primary responsibility is to undertake the assigned communication activities aimed at furthering her/his learning objectives to the best of her /his ability as directed by the Advocacy and Communication coordinator. The Intern will be responsible and will focus on learning the following:
Communication
- Create and capture original ActionAid multimedia (photo, video and graphic design) materials for dissemination across website and social media channels.
- Administer social media content of ActionAid including twitter, Instagram and Facebook
- Document activities of ActionAid by taking videos and photos and disseminate these via official channels.
- Edit videos and producing documentaries about activities of INTERNISA projected implemented by ActionAid
- Collect and analysing data on website usage to improve performance
- Monitor impact of graphic materials and suggest improvements
- Work closely with the AAP team to produce materials to communicate the project advancement
- Conduct regular media and social media assessment reports to measure impact of ActionAid digital communications efforts.
Graphic design
- Take a key role in the design and layout of visual and website of project and ActionAid Palestine
- Design and lay-out of design for various applications such as advertisements, brochures, reports, banners, posters, booklets, leaflets, books, calendars, bulletins, flyers, cards and other communications products for print and electronic distribution:
- Translate data into graphic elements – infographics, fractography.
- Create animations for illustrative purposes such as gifs, animated visuals and more advanced solutions.
- Create Photoshop Design File (PSDs) for visual layout of web pages and social media accounts of ActionAid Palestine projects.
Allowance & Insurance:
- Intern will be paid a fixed monthly allowance (USD700.00) and will be refunded any other costs incurred in the course of official work.
- Intern will be covered by ActionAid’s medical and accident insurance scheme.

Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, information technology, multimedia.
- Experience in design for marketing campaigns and social media ads.
- Experience with design programmes such as: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Avid, Final Cut Pro and other graphic design software
- Intermediate level of English
- Between 22-27 years
- Must be available immediately and for full time work placement for 3 monthswith the possibility of extension up to 3 months as decided by ActionAid SMT.
- Placement will be based in Bethlehem.
