The Gaza Code Academy - أكاديمية البرمجة
APPLY FOR THE GAZA CODE ACADEMY!
The Gaza Code Academy, a joint project of Gaza Sky Geeks and Founders & Coders International, will launch its fifth cohort on July 1, 2018. We will train 16 students in a full-time, intensive course for 8 weeks with an additional 16 weeks of project-based learning with real-world clients to jumpstart your professional portfolio. The final goal for this Code Academy is to graduate as full-stack developers who can deploy production-grade software online and secure high-quality jobs with companies or work as freelance developers!
The fifth cohort requires a full-time commitment from July 1- December 6, 2018. After the course, we expect graduates to immediately seek employment opportunities as a software developer either as individual freelancers, employees in a company, or as freelancers in the GSG Digital Agency. As such, this course is NOT suitable for current university students, even if one would postpone a semester.
The deadline to apply is May 22, 2018. The application requires a significant amount of self-learning, so it is encouraged to begin your application early.
أكاديمية البرمجة هي أحد برامج غزة سكاي جيكس بالتعاون مع مؤسسة مبرمجون ومؤسسون الدولية، عبارة عن برنامج مكثف لمدة ٦ شهور، بدوام كامل (٨ ساعات يوميا) يهدف إلى تدريب مجموعة من الإناث و الذكور ممن لديهم خلفية تقنية بسيطة أو ينحدرون من خلفيات مهنية غير تقنية ليصبحوا مبرمجين ومطورين ويب للغة جافا سكريبت. سيتمكن خريجي الأكاديمية من الحصول على فرص للعمل الحر، أو للعمل كموظفين في شركات مختلفة أو من خلال غزة سكاي جيكس.
يتم إغلاق باب التسجيل لأكاديمية البرمجة بتاريخ ٢٢ مايو ٢٠١٨ وتبدأ المجموعة الخامسة بتاريخ ١ يوليو وحتى ٦ ديسمبر ٢٠١٨
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Our immersive course is peer-led and project-based with 16 students working in four teams of four. Students take turns delivering workshops, running code reviews and managing projects. The course covers test-driven development, using a full JavaScript stack (JavaScript and Node.js) with relational databases. We also teach aspects of UX design and project management.
Once finished, graduates of the Code Academy will be competent full-stack developers, able to work in big teams, build complete prototypes to test their ideas, work with clients, and manage the lifecycle of a product.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Gaza Sky Geeks, and the Gaza Coding Academy were founded on the principle of giving back to the community. This means that we do not charge our students fees, but we do expect them to contribute back.
Specifically, graduates are expected to lead the next programme; by mentoring, teaching and helping to organise the programme. You will have the full support of the alumni and GSG staff.
